Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Arrive in Arusha and transfer to your hotel for briefing and equipment check by our mountain guides. Overnight stay in Arusha (accommodation not included in trek price, but can be arranged on request).

Day 2: Arusha – Londorossi Gate – Mti Mkubwa Camp

• Elevation: 2,100m to 2,820m
• Hiking time: 3–4 hours
  Begin your adventure with a scenic drive to Londorossi Gate, followed by a short hike through lush rainforest to Mti Mkubwa Camp (Big Tree Camp).

Day 3: Mti Mkubwa – Shira 1 Camp

• Elevation: 2,820m to 3,500m
• Hiking time: 5–6 hours
  The trail climbs out of the rainforest and into the heather zone, opening to panoramic views of Shira Ridge and Mount Meru.

Day 4: Shira 1 – Shira 2 Camp

• Elevation: 3,500m to 3,900m
• Hiking time: 4–5 hours
  A gentle trek across the Shira Plateau leads to Shira 2 Camp, where you’ll enjoy magnificent sunset views.

Day 5: Shira 2 – Lava Tower – Barranco Camp

• Elevation: 3,900m to 4,630m to 3,950m
• Hiking time: 6–7 hours
  Today’s climb to Lava Tower helps your body acclimatize before descending to Barranco Camp, one of the most scenic camps on the mountain.

Day 6: Barranco – Karanga Camp

• Elevation: 3,950m to 3,995m
• Hiking time: 4–5 hours
  Climb the famous Barranco Wall and traverse alpine valleys to Karanga Camp, a vital acclimatization stop before your summit push.

Day 7: Karanga – Barafu Camp

• Elevation: 3,995m to 4,673m
• Hiking time: 4–5 hours
  Reach Barafu Camp, your base for the final ascent. Enjoy an early dinner and rest before the midnight summit attempt.

Day 8: Barafu – Uhuru Peak – Mweka Camp

• Elevation: 4,673m to 5,895m (Uhuru Peak), descend to 3,100m
• Hiking time: 10–13 hours
  Start at midnight for your summit trek to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After celebrating your victory, descend to Mweka Camp for your final overnight on the mountain.

Day 9: Mweka Camp – Mweka Gate – Arusha

• Elevation: 3,100m to 1,640m
• Hiking time: 3–4 hours
  Descend through lush forests to Mweka Gate, where you’ll receive your summit certificates. Transfer back to Arusha for rest or onward travel.
