The seven Mount Kilimanjaro climbing routes vary not only in length, cost and scenery. They also have different difficulty levels and different success rates. Selecting a Kilimanjaro climb route is one of the most important decisions you have to make. Each of the seven Kilimanjaro routes has its pros and cons, like cost, how varied the scenery is, and summit success rate. It’s therefore a good idea to look at each to help you make a smart choice about which is the best route for you to climb and take you to the roof of Africa.
We like these routes because they’re beautiful and varied, and don’t require you to descend along the same path. They also enjoy high summit success rates, and of course, we want all of our climbers to enjoy standing at the summit!

Internet connectivity on Mount Kilimanjaro has improved significantly in recent years, but coverage varies depending on your location and the route you take.
Wi-Fi Access: The Tanzanian government has installed high-speed internet services on the mountain. Wi-Fi is available at several camps along the Marangu route, including Mandara Hut, Horombo Hut, and Kibo Hut. These access points are powered by solar energy and may be turned off occasionally to conserve power for lighting, but they generally maintain a strong signal.
Mobile Data: Mobile reception is present in various areas on Kilimanjaro, though it’s inconsistent and can be spotty. Local providers like Vodacom and Airtel offer the best coverage. It’s advisable to purchase a local SIM card with a data plan before your trek if you wish to stay connected.
Power Supply: Electricity is not available at most campsites, so it’s essential to bring power banks or solar chargers to keep your devices powered throughout the climb.
While connectivity has improved, it’s important to note that internet access can be slow and unreliable, especially at higher altitudes. Therefore, it’s best to prepare for limited internet access during your climb and embrace the opportunity to disconnect and enjoy the natural beauty of Mount Kilimanja

Choosing the right trekking route on Mount Kilimanjaro depends on your fitness level, time availability, and personal preferences. Each route offers a unique experience, from scenic views and crowd levels to acclimatization profiles and success rates.
Lemosho Route: Known for its beautiful scenery and high success rate, this route is ideal for those looking for a longer and more gradual ascent. It’s less crowded and offers excellent acclimatization time.
Machame Route: Popular and scenic, the Machame route is suited for adventurous trekkers. It’s a bit more challenging but offers varied landscapes and good acclimatization if taken over 7 days.
Marangu Route: The only route with hut accommodations, it’s often chosen by those looking for a slightly easier trek. However, it offers less time for acclimatization, so the success rate is slightly lower.
Rongai Route: Coming from the northern side, it’s drier and less crowded. Great for those trekking during the rainy season or seeking a more remote path.
Northern Circuit Route: The longest and one of the quietest routes. It circles the mountain, allowing excellent acclimatization and stunning panoramic views.
