After check-in, you will meet your expert mountain guide for a comprehensive pre-trek briefing and full gear check, ensuring you are fully prepared and confident before starting your Kilimanjaro adventure.

Note:

  • If you arrive before 4:00 PM, your briefing will take place at our office

  • If you arrive later, the briefing will be conducted at your hotel for your convenience

Please bring:

  • A copy of your passport
  • A copy of your travel insurance policy

These are required for trekking permits and official park registration.

Note: Hotel check-in begins at 12:00 PM. If you arrive early, we can arrange:

  • A day-use room for your comfort
  • Or optional short activities to help you relax before check-in

After breakfast, you will depart Arusha for a scenic 3–4 hour drive to Lemosho Gate, located on the western side of Mount Kilimanjaro.

After completing park registration, your trek begins through the lush rainforest, where you may spot colobus monkeys and tropical birdlife. This gentle first day allows your body to start acclimatizing as you hike to Mti Mkubwa Camp, where you will spend your first night on the mountain.

Today’s trek takes you out of the rainforest and into open heathland. As you gain altitude, the landscape opens up, revealing stunning views of the Shira Plateau.

You will arrive at Shira 1 Camp, where you’ll enjoy your first clear views of the mountain and settle in for the night under the stars.

After breakfast, you will trek across the expansive Shira Plateau toward Shira 2 Camp (3,850 m). Along the way, enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys and the dramatic Western Breach.

This is an important acclimatization day, and temperatures may drop below freezing at night, so proper layering is essential.

This is a key acclimatization day following the “climb high, sleep low” principle.

You will trek toward Lava Tower (4,600 m), passing through the famous “Garden of the Senecios” and the alpine desert zone. After lunch near Lava Tower, you will descend to Moir Hut Camp (4,200 m) for overnight.

👉 This strategy significantly improves your chances of a successful summit.

Today’s route takes you along the remote northern slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, far from the busier trails.

Enjoy panoramic views, quiet surroundings, and untouched wilderness as you make your way to Pofu Camp, one of the most secluded camps on the mountain.

You will continue along the Northern Circuit with a gradual descent across rugged terrain and rocky ridges.

Arriving at Third Cave Camp, you’ll have time to rest and further acclimatize in preparation for the summit phase.

A shorter but important day as you ascend to School Hut (4,800 m), your base camp for the summit attempt.

Spend the afternoon resting, hydrating, and preparing your gear for the final ascent. Your guides will provide a detailed summit briefing to ensure you are fully ready.

Your summit attempt begins around midnight.

Following a slow and steady pace, you will reach:

  • Gilman’s Point (5,681 m)
  • Stella Point (5,756 m)
  • Finally, Uhuru Peak (5,895 m), the highest point in Africa

Reaching Uhuru Peak on Mount Kilimanjaro is a life-changing achievement.

After celebrating, you will descend via Barafu to Millennium Camp for a well-deserved rest.

Descend through the lush rainforest to Mweka Gate (1,640 m).

Upon arrival, you will receive your official summit certificate, a proud moment marking your achievement.

You will then be transferred to Mweka Village for a hot lunch, before returning to Arusha for relaxation and celebration

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your departure.

Note: The Northern Circuit Route is widely regarded as the best Kilimanjaro route for high success rates and scenic beauty.
